Traintrack Fields

So me and a few of my friends had been talking about doing a "we want to pretend we are models and get all dressed up and take pictures" photoshoot, but due to busy schedules, we hadn't done it yet. So finally! one weekend we just decided to make it happen. What came out of it was better then I had even anticipated!

I let the girls pick the locations and wardrobe since I didn't want the pictures to be just what I wanted. We stayed up until 4 in the morning! Picking out outfits and figuring out what we wanted to do for hair and makeup. It was so much fun! We got up, somewhat unwillingly the next day, had mimosas with our breakfast and we were ready to get started! My room was as if a clothing bob had gone off! But amongst the chaos there was organization and we knew where everything was that we needed. After the girls were dressed, hair done and I did their make up, WE WERE OFF!

We chose out first location to be a field/hill area, since there is an abundance of such terrain around my house.

I now invite you to get comfy, if you weren't already, and enjoy the loveliness that is to follow.

Meet Marin

 Isn't she just beautiful!

For our second location we went down the road just a ways to a old railway. I'm seriously so excited to show you these!!!

I'm pretty sure that this should be the next CocaCola ad!

I like to make sure that every time I get behind my camera, not only am I having fun, but my clients are as well. The last senior photo session I did was a blast!
Meet Kaylee! Isn't she cute! Believe it or not, Kaylee is a bit of a tom boy. She loves to play soccer, doesn't wear makeup (nor does she need to), likes old school rock, and only owned one skirt. Not only is she graduating, she is about to go to Spain with her school! Since she isn't super girly I didn't want to throw her in a flowery dress, curl her hair and put a bunch of make up on her, because her pictures wouldn't have looked like "her". So I thought what can we do to get her excited about taking these pictures...and I came up with what turned out to be the perfect idea! We went thrifting in Hillcrest, Ca. It was a blast! She picked out everything all on her own. It was so cute to see her kind of develop her own style right in front of me. And all on her own she picked out a super cute bright blue dress! I was so proud!
Since her skin is basically flawless! And I didn't want to make her too made up, I just did a hint of a golden brown eyeshadow on her eyelids, light eyeliner, and mascara. She looked so pretty! When it came time to taking her pictures she had this confidence that I didn't expect to see out of her. She wasn't intimidated by the camera at all, and was just really natural. I was so happy that I was able to not only make her feel special that day, but she now had new clothes for her trip to Spain too!
Her youngest sister Bryanna came with is for the day and she was HILARIOUS! She had us laughing the whole time, it was great. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as we did creating them!

“It’s one thing to make a picture of what a person looks like, it’s another thing to make a portrait of who they are.” – Paul Caponigro

I came across this quote the other day and I just loved it! It perfectly describes what I try and do every time I get behind my camera. When you do capture those special moments, its such a wonderful thing.

Fay Family

I love doing family portraits! It is so much fun to see the interactions between brothers and sisters, cousins, couples who have been married for 25+ years, and parents and little children. When photographing families with little kids, I like to go at the pace of the children. What ever they want to do and where they want to go we just follow and try to keep them smiling and happy. And even when they get a little fussy we still get cute pictures like this one of Little River here.

Still super cute! Evan & Jessica and their little man River were a pleasure to work with and I just loved the Western theme Jessica had in mind. Old Town Temecula and the fields of Murrieta provided the perfect backdrop for us.
